WWW Wednesday: October 31, 2018

Hey, guys! Happy Halloween!

I hope you are all doing great. It’s Wednesday once again and it’s time for another WWW post.

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam@Taking on a World of Words. To participate, just answer the three questions below and link back to her or simply put your answers in the comments section on her blog so she can check out your answers.

The three WWW questions are:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

I just started reading The Lying Game from Ruth Ware, which tells the story of four women who’s been friends back in boarding school in Salten. The girls liked to play the Lying Game back then. They try to convince people of their lies and even have points when someone believed them. It was the most significant year of their lives. Now, 17 years later, the other three girls received a text message. One of them need help. And despite not having communication for a long time, they all rushed back to Salten. A body was found on the beach. And it looks like the four women knows something about it.

I really like the premise of this one and though it is quite slow, I am deeply interested to know what’s about to unfold.

The House of Falling Embers is my recently finished book. It is definitely a perfect Halloween read. Not so scary as I hoped but eerie just the same. The story revolves around Artemis who lost her bestfriend to what they believed is a witch house when she was 13. Nine years later, she’s back on the old neighborhood and the guilt is haunting Artemis. The nightmares and hallucinations also started. She can’t seem to distinguished real from dream anymore. And it looks like the only way to get her sanity back is to face her fears of going back into the woods and maybe even into the house.

My next read would be Jodi Picoult’s A Spark of Light. Jodi Picoult is one of my auto-buy/auto-read author but it’s been years since I last read a book from her. This author doesn’t shy away from tough, even controversial, issues. This new book from her isn’t any different. A gunman burst into a women’s reproductive health services clinic — the Center– and started shooting. Then taking all everyone inside hostage.

That’s it for my WWW. See you again next Wednesday and feel free to share your own WWWs below. Have a good day!
