I’m a few chapters in with The Wife’s Secret and I still find it hard to get into the story. I hope things picked up soon because it really looks interesting. It is about Charley Willis, daughter of a famous TV personality couple who was murdered at their own home. Charley was 13-years-old and has survived the attack by hiding in the closet. Years later, she’s living out of the spotlight. And now, she just got married. But hours after the wedding, Charley went missing. Could it be that the Willis Curse really exist? Her husband, Seth, is about to find out.

I finally finished the French manga version of Animal Land which I started last year. It only got 12 volumes but it still took me a year to finish it as I kind of lost interest towards the middle of the story. But since I was trying to learn French, I decided to finish it. It was a cute story at the beginning, where a human baby was found by a tanuki (Japanese raccoon dog) and she decided to raise him in the jungle with the tanuki pack. The baby was named Taroza and as he grows old they realized he has the ability to communicate with all the animals. He made it his mission to protect the herbivores from carnivores which later on became a mission to make both species live peacefully without one killing the other for food. Like I’ve said, it’s cute at the beginning but towards the middle became too violent. I don’t mind so much if I hadn’t found the book in the kid’s section at the library.

I might pick up The Warning as my next read. It tells the story of a mother seeking the truth about what really happened to her dead son. They thought it was an accident, the police said so. But three years later, she got a cryptic message about finding out the truth and not believing the lie about the death of her son.

That’s it for my WWW. See you again next Wednesday and feel free to share your own WWWs below. Have a good day!
